Cate began her career playing a naughty otter at the age of 12 with The Australian Shakespeare Company in a production of Wind In The Willows.

They’ve studied at 16th Street, later in New York City at The Stellar Adler Studio, T. Schreiber Studio, and at Film and Television Studio International.

Recently, she won the prestigious Septimius Award for Best Actress in "Apparitions". This accolade marked a turning point, inspiring Cate to begin producing her own work. Most recently, the short film "Under The Influence" which premiered at the iconic Magic Box Theatre in Chicago (2024), at Nova Cinema for Monster Fest (2024), and at Palace Cinemas in Sydney for SWIFF (2025), where it was nominated for Best Short and Audience Choice.

Cate creates female-driven stories where women get to be messy, angry, funny, grieving, and occasionally murderous.

She’s currently developing two romantic comedy features, “Christmas With Iggy” and a modern take on Jane Austen’s Emma called “Match Made”, alongside a six-part thriller series about elite runners, “Female Athlete”.
